JOB SUMMARY
The Materials Data Analyst is responsible for providing overall company leadership for the development, maintenance and distribution of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The Materials Data Analyst will coordinate the classification and management of ERP part data with all Pyrotek sites to support financial, operations and sales/marketing objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) - Establish and lead a global Pyrotek MSDS team to ensure a consistent and leveraged approach to managing MSDS information and distribution worldwide.
- Create new MSDS sheets as necessary to support new products.
- Review and update MSDS sheets to conform to current Pyrotek standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the existence of MSDS sheets to support all Pyrotek products.
- Act as the primary MSDS systems expert and work with IT to implement necessary system capability enhancements.
- Lead the effort to establish an information hierarchy and system to associate MSDS sheets with Pyrotek products and commodities.
- Participate in establishing an association of product sales to Pyrotek customers to relevant MSDS for the purpose of complying with regulatory distribution requirements.
- Stay abreast of global health and safety regulations which establish requirements for the Pyrotek MSDS system.
Part Data Management - Participate in a global, cross-functional Pyrotek team with responsibility for establishing objectives and sponsoring initiatives for the improvement of Pyrotek part data management.
- Oversee the use of part data such as global part numbers, product codes and commodity codes and direct activities for conformance to established standards.
- Facilitate necessary activity with IT to meet these responsibilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - BS/BA in business, engineering or sciences.
- Experience with management of part or product business and technical data in a capacity such as purchasing, materials engineering or technical product data management.
- Strong aptitude with ERP systems and ability to effectively perform duties as a systems administrator for a stand-alone IT application.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships internationally through effective written and verbal communication.
- Capability to effectively establish and then provide leadership and direction to a diverse global team.
- Ability to coalesce differing objectives into an overall system plan and to establish action plans that makes tangible progress towards the overall goal.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Aptitude and curiosity to learn the products and materials used within Pyrotek.
- Language skills besides English a plus.
