Tilting Furnace

This illustration shows the EMP system fitted to a tilting furnace.

The EMP system would usually be fitted between the pivot points on a tilting furnace but it is also possible (as shown in the picture) to fit on the side of a tilting furnace and even on the back (if no door is present). The location is usually determined by the available space, location of the burners, tapping port and location of the doors and fume ducting.

EMP have several tilting furnace installations around the world, the largest being a 55 tonne furnace and the smallest a 15 tonne furnace.

It is possible to install an EMP system on many different types of reverberatory furnace.
