The model 620 Electromagnetic Pump (EMP^™) is the largest in the 6 inch range of pumps. The pump is the heart of the installation and is recommended where high mass flow rates are required on large capacity furnaces, where improved productivity and metal recovery are required; the pump gives a high efficiency output with substantial mass flow.

The 620 EMP comprises of a cylindrical electromagnetic coil, lined with a silicon nitride tube. The coil uses the induced electromagnetic currents to propel the molten aluminium from the furnace to the chargewell, the direction and speed of flow being controlled at the operator station.
